Job Description: |
Neurotechnology Laboratory, under the direction of Dr Butson, invites highly motivated Medical Scientist to join our team of world experts in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), neuro-imaging, and complex data analysis. Our team is focused on innovative research in DBS for the treatment of neurological diseases, including Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, Tourette’s syndrome, and other disorders. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty, engineers, post-docs, and other team members to develop novel therapies for patients with neurological and psychiatric disorders.
The OPS Medical Scientist will perform work central to the development of data analysis pipelines, supporting data analysis quality assurance, and troubleshooting. This team member will also assist in projects that directly relate to our team’s ongoing cutting-edge research directions, including
- Finite element modeling
- Positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance (PET/MRI) imaging
- Magnetic resonance (MR) diffusion imaging
- Computed tomography (CT) and data visualization tools for neuromaging
The individual will be expected to interact with other team members to facilitate program activities and to meet deadlines or resolve technical challenges both independently and collaboratively. The OPS Medical Scientist will be expected to interact with students who work on relevant projects in data analysis methods.

Expected Salary: |
$23.95 per hour
|
Minimum Requirements: |
Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, computer science, or an appropriate area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: |
- 1 to 2 years of experience in medical imaging
- Fluency in MATLAB and Python
- Experience with SCIRun, COMSOL, Seg3d, Slicer, 3DSlicer, ANTS, or similar
- Experience in using Blender for medical and scientific visualization
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly independent, motivated, and demonstrating initiative and follow-through
