Job Description:

The University of Florida, Department of Chemistry, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the broadly defined area of Artificial Intelligence for Quantum Chemistry of Molecular Quantum Materials. This search is part of UF’s initiative in Artificial Intelligence for Quantum Science, with similar faculty searches in the Physics and Electrical and Computer Engineering Departments. Senior applicants (already Tenured Associate or Full Professors) might qualify for term of fully endowed positions.

Preferred research areas include the development of quantum chemical methods, multiscale simulation frameworks, and AI-accelerated approaches for modeling, prediction, and discovery in molecular and materials systems. We especially encourage applications from researchers with a compelling vision to use machine learning to expand the reach of quantum chemistry and address fundamental challenges in chemical science.

A successful candidate will be expected to conduct innovative research at the highest level and to establish an outstanding, independent, externally funded research program. We seek candidates with a record of excellence in research and scholarship and an ability to excel in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Expected Salary:

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.

Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field

Preferred: Postdoctoral experience is desirable.
