| Job Description: |
- Update study paperwork and enter data into the Autoimmune Database upon completion of each clinic. Diseases under study include systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren disease, vasculitis, and various infectious diseases that may contribute to the clinical manifestations of autoimmune disease.
- Collect blood, sputum, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing. In some cases, specimens may be procured and prepared for distribution to other investigators engaged in autoimmune disease research supported through the Autoimmune Disease Database.
- Act as liaison for research sponsors and research participants when enrolling and consenting patients and healthy controls for research studies. Explain the purpose of the research, treatment procedures, medications, and physicians’ instructions to the patients. Answer research subjects’ questions and explain risks of the studies.
- Coordinate protocol related research procedures and studies by updating the database, maintaining lab supplies, and preparing biological specimens for adding to the biobank.
- Assist with planning for data and biological samples for research clinic visits in order to ensure the timely and accurate collection of clinical data, blood, sputum, and other biological specimens.
- Assist with processing and cataloging biological samples for the Autoimmune Disease Biobank.

$43,888 - $45,375/annually

| Required Qualifications: |
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

| Preferred: |
Experience and/or certification in phlebotomy is necessary. General computer literacy and good interpersonal skills also are required. Position would be ideal for someone with an RN or LPN degree or for someone with prior experience in clinical research.
