Job Description:

The Research Coordinator I is housed within the Department of Health Services Research, Management and Policy in the College of Public Health and Health Professions at the University of Florida. This position supports multiple research programs across the Department and contributes to the successful implementation of grant‑funded research studies. Responsibilities include assisting with project planning, participant engagement, data collection, administrative operations, and data management under the direction of the Department Chair. This position works closely with Principal Investigators, research staff, and community partners to maintain efficient project workflows, ensure accurate documentation, and support timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Research Coordination & Project Support

This position supports protocol-related research activities under the direction of assigned Principal Investigator(s) and ensures adherence to established study procedures and timelines. Responsibilities include coordinating participant recruitment and engagement, scheduling, follow-up, and engagement; facilitating data collection activities such as surveys, interviews, and focus groups. This position serves as the primary point of contact for study participants, partnering organizations, and community collaborators, as directed. Additionally, the position manages logistics for project meetings and events, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes and action items.

Administrative Responsibilities

Provide operational support for assigned research projects by tracking timelines, deliverables, and task completion. Assists with financial and documentation processes, including project invoicing support, expense tracking, and participant payments. Contributes to the development of project procedures and coordinates special projects.

Data Management and Reporting 

Assists with the collection, entry, organization, and quality review of study data in accordance with project protocols. The coordinator helps maintain secure data systems, monitors data completeness and accuracy, and supports routine data cleaning activities. Contributes to the preparation of project reports, summaries, and progress updates for internal and external stakeholders, as well as supporting the development of materials for presentations, manuscripts, and grant reports as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$46,800 - $50,000 per annum; commensurate based on education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:
  • Experience working in a research, academic, or administrative support environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and community partners.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
