Classification Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a currently enrolled University of Florida student (minimum 2.0 GPA)
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, primarily Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Knowledge of Canva.
  • Knowledge of planning, capturing, and posting digital content.
  • Ability to work on-campus at the Norman Gym Building.
  • Ability to commit to 10 hours per week for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
Job Description:

The Digital Worlds Institute within the College of the Arts is looking for a Social Media & Communications Coordinator to act as the voice of the Institute. This role combines responsibilities as a social media operator, marketer, and storyteller, playing a crucial part in supporting communication efforts across multiple platforms. The Coordinator will report to the Associate in Advising and Associate Director and will work closely with the Multimedia Producer to ensure that social media content is accompanied by high-quality visual assets.

  • Work directly with the Multimedia Producer to brief creative needs and ensure consistent brand messaging.
  • Execute the marketing content calendar across primary social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Design consistent, on-brand graphics using Canva for social posts, event flyers, and newsletters.
  • Write compelling blog posts, student/alumni spotlights, and newsletter copy.
  • Coordinate with the campus community for interviews and content features.
Expected Salary:

$15 an hour

Preferred:
  • Ability to produce clear, compelling copy, including feature stories, blog posts, or newsletters.
  • Possess an eye for design and detail, with the ability to craft content that maintains a consistent brand voice.
  • Experience with social media management, including scheduling tools and engagement tracking.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and organizational skills in a fast-paced work environment.
  • An interest in thinking creatively, strategically, and collaboratively to aid in educating the community on the experiences and offerings available to enhance the UF experience.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to connect with others easily.
  • Evidence of skill in designing and facilitating work that advances curiosity, respect, open intellectual discourse, and the welcome incorporation and well-being of all in an environment of complex differences.
