The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville invites applications for an up-to full-time research faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are seeking a dynamic researcher who will establish an independent and extramurally funded clinical research program of outstanding quality and assist with ongoing funded projects. Candidates may have backgrounds in disciplines such as toxicology, pharmacy, emergency medicine, emergency medical services, or critical care. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant academic community and contribute to advancing acute care/resuscitation science/emergency medicine research within a supportive interdisciplinary environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a high-impact, funded research program that aligns with the department’s focus on pain management, emergency medical services/prehospital care, clinical toxicology, pharmacogenomics, asthma, precision emergency medicine, and other related fields, including partnering with clinicians in a multidisciplinary approach to conduct patient-focused, translational research. The candidate will be expected to pursue funding from a wide variety of sponsors, including industry, foundation and federal sponsors.
The Department is developing a core of researchers engaged in clinical research to build collaborative and interdisciplinary research centered around emergent/critical care topics that complement the already established research strengths of the Department and College of Medicine – Jacksonville at large. Early career candidates should have a promising publication record as well as post-doctoral research experience. Mid-career candidates are expected to have demonstrated the ability to obtain extramural research funding as a principal investigator.
