Lecturer

The Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) of Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida is inviting applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track position at the level of Lecturer starting January 2027. Qualified candidates should possess an MS or PhD in Operations and Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics or a closely related field. Prior teaching experience, particularly at the undergraduate level, is strongly preferred, though not required. The instructor will collaborate closely with core faculty in the ISOM department. Responsibilities include facilitating business lab sessions, assisting with course coordination, supporting student teams, and contributing to the continued development of experiential learning activities and course content. This includes projects focused on the effective use of AI tools and helping students more fully appreciate the complexity and interdisciplinary nature of business decision-making. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills, along with a collaborative approach to working with faculty, staff, and students.

Our department currently offers undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. programs in ISOM. Our master’s program is the largest graduate program in the Warrington College of Business attracting high-quality students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB AND THE PERCENTAGE OF TIME SPENT ON EACH FUNCTION
The position includes the following teaching responsibilities:
This position will be running a Lab-style portion of core undergraduate courses in the ISOM department. Support the design, coordination, and delivery of undergraduate experiential learning activities.

Facilitate student engagement with business simulation platforms and experiential learning technologies in face-to-face, online, hybrid learning environments.

Collaborate with core ISOM faculty.

Assist in developing learning objectives, assessments, and experiential exercises aligned with course and program goals. This includes the collection of data from course assessments to support the AOL/AACSB accreditation process.

Coordinate lab sessions, student teams, and course activities to ensure an engaging and effective learning experience.

Assist with the preparation and development of instructional materials, including presentations, lab projects, online content, and supporting course documentation.

Perform assessment-related activities, including exam preparation, course management, and manage other related instructional technologies. (i.e. simulations from third party vendors)

Contribute to the continued development and implementation of innovative experiential learning approaches, including the integration of AI-supported analytical and decision-making tools.

The position includes the following college and collaborative responsibilities
Collaborate with faculty and staff across the College of Business and related university units in support of experiential learning initiatives.

Assist with instructional reviews, assessment activities, and program evaluation efforts as needed.

Perform other instructional, technical, administrative, and program support duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Commensurate with experience

A MS or PhD in Operations and Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics or a closely related field.

Prior teaching experience, particularly at the undergraduate level, is strongly preferred, though not required.
