The Molecular/Cytogenetics Technologist position is a dynamic one with responsibilities in Molecular Diagnostics, Quantitative Pathology, and Cytogenetics Laboratory sections at UF Health Pathology Laboratories. Quantitative Pathology is responsible for implementation and testing of cancer specimens using quantitative image analysis of Immunohistochemical (IHC) stained slides and In-situ Hybridization (ISH/FISH). Testing is performed using automated IHC staining instruments, IHC scanning and quantitation instruments, and FISH hybridization and scanning instruments. The Cytogenetics lab prepares fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) testing, collects data, and documents results from these efforts via the use of high-quality oil immersion fluorescent microscopes and scanning instruments.
