This mid-shift position is responsible for triaging, accessioning, and troubleshooting all incoming specimens received at UF Health Pathology Laboratories. Duties include: accessioning all types of Clinical Pathology specimens including but not limited to; blood, serum, saliva, sputum, viral transport media, culture swabs, etc. Assigning each specimen a number and label materials accordingly, collecting and placing test orders, verifying billing codes, adding and verifying medical insurance, maintaining files, verifying appropriate materials received for each test, routing samples to the correct testing department and coordinating specimens to be sent to outside laboratories. Other duties include testing coordination, preparing result reports and distributing the reports. In addition, this position is responsible for maintenance of the UF Health Pathology Laboratories' files, data, and paperwork as required by regulatory agencies and to support the research, education and clinical mission of the laboratory and department. This position is for mid-shift, but may vary depending on the needs of the department. Occasional weekend coverage may be assigned.
