We invite applications from scholars of European history across all periods, including medieval, early modern, and modern, and from a broad range of methodological perspectives. Preference will be given to candidates whose research situates Europe within interregional, transregional, Mediterranean, and global contexts, complementing the department’s existing strengths in Atlantic history and the histories of the British and Spanish empires. Areas of specialization may include, but are not limited to, European empires (from the Middle Ages to the present); colonialism; migration and displacement; law and society; the circulation of ideas and cultural practices. CASBR operates a fleet of MALDI mass spectrometry imaging instruments supporting investigators at UF and collaborating institutions nationwide, with active research programs spanning neurodegeneration, cancer metabolism, metabolic disease, and rare disorders. We are seeking a Laboratory Technician III to serve as a senior technical contributor supporting the Center's sample preparation pipeline, instrumentation, and day-to-day laboratory operations. This is an individual contributor role: the successful candidate will work independently on established protocols, exercise judgment in troubleshooting technical problems, and serve as a technical resource to graduate students, undergraduate researchers, and newly hired technical staff. Because CASBR operates as a collaborative center serving investigators across UF and partner institutions, the position also involves regular, professional interaction with external research groups throughout the lifecycle of a project.
