Job Description:

The Cardiovascular Center at the University of Florida, College of Medicine- Jacksonville, is seeking a full-time Interventional Cardiologist at the tenure or non-tenure accruing level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The Cardiovascular Center is a state-of-the-art facility servicing North Florida and South Georgia. Our rapidly expanding Cardiovascular Program is currently involved in numerous clinical research trials with a focus on education, clinical practice and research. Major responsibilities include teaching, patient care and research. This position will report directly to the Chief of Cardiology and Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Center.

The following is a general description of duties and responsibilities for this position.

  • Provide and maintain a high level of quality in-patient and out-patient intermediate care services in all aspects of interventional cardiology.
  • Participate in the interventional cardiology on-call schedule/rotation- currently one out of five weekends.
  • Participate in off campus clinic rotation- one day a week will be spent in one of the Cardiovascular Center off campus locations.
  • Provide clinical teaching of trainees in interventional cardiology and participate in the cardiology educational program.
  • Responsible for excellent communication with all referring physicians.
  • Assist in marketing/promoting The Cardiovascular Center and Interventional Program to community physicians and managed care organizations.
  • Participate in monthly division meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested.

Expected Salary:

Negotiable; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum requirements: MD and BC/BE in Cardiology and be eligible for Florida medical licensure. Applicants must have interest in interventional and structural cardiology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Tenure or non-tenure accruing level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor and is Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology with high interest and expertise in Interventional Cardiology.
