Job Description:
The Institute for Child Health Policy (ICHP) at the University of Florida is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to coordinate research for a state-wide Medicaid and CHIP External Quality Review (EQR) project. The Research Coordinator will work in a team setting to coordinate and contribute
to focused studies, data analysis, written reports, and research activity regarding quality of care, health services, health policy, healthcare needs, quality incentive programs, and program evaluations. The new team member will contribute to the successful delivery of Medicaid and CHIP research and evaluation projects and will coordinate multiple research studies and activities focused on publicly insured populations, both adult and pediatric.
 
Duties Include:
 
Responsible for coordinating multiple evaluation research studies, monitoring project timelines, monitoring
deliverables progress, communicating with faculty and staff, community partners, other members of the EQRO
team, and other external constituencies as needed, coordinating team meetings, ensuring efficient communication, and maintaining structured meeting agendas to drive project progress effectively.
 
Coordinating and contributing to evaluation research studies including selecting and managing data sources
and databases, developing methods, survey instruments, and analytic tools as needed, conducting literature
reviews, reviewing CMS, Medicaid, and CHIP protocols and provider manuals, conducting data quality control, and conducting basic data analysis, synthesis, interpretation, and reporting, including producing tables and visual elements.
 
Assist faculty in drafting reports and presentations that meet the guidelines and standards of both the
University of Florida and project stakeholders. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating the production of written evaluation study reports that include rigorous methodologies, systematic literature reviews, and innovative design components for technical and non-technical audiences. Work with faculty and team staff to develop innovative research projects focused on health care quality and assess protocol feasibility for topics of interest to the state of Texas that coincide with federal, state, and ICHP research priorities.
Expected Salary:

$60,000 - $80,000; Commensurate with education and experience. 

Minimum Requirements:
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant research
experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Economics, Public Health, or related Health and Social Science subjects is strongly
preferred. Proficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, database management and
MS Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are required.
We are looking for candidates with an interest in enhancing quality and efficiency of public health
programs and in leveraging rigorous analytic methodologies to produce high-quality research and
actionable policy recommendations. Preferred qualifications include at least three years of experience
working in a public health research or program evaluation environment, contributing to the production of
evidence and data-driven research and written manuscripts or reports, and the ability to manage multiple
projects simultaneously. Preferred qualifications include:
Strong writing skills.
Strong analytic skills.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to interpret and communicate statistical and analytic findings.
Experience with data analytic software such as Stata (preferred), Python, SPSS, SAS, or R.
Initiative and attention to details.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to organize work with minimal supervision.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
