Job Description:
The University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville, (UFCOM-J) is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Nocturnist Intensivist at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. This position is primarily focused on providing comprehensive night coverage across multiple critical care units at UF Health Jacksonville, including the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and Coronary Care Unit (CCU). Salary is negotiable with excellent benefit package. Applications will be accepted until an applicant pool is identified.
  • Provide expert critical care management and support during nighttime hours across various intensive care units, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Manage and respond to critical care emergencies in the MICU, SICU, CVICU, PICU, and CCU.
  • Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and APRNs during their night rotations, fostering a learning environment that emphasizes clinical excellence and patient safety.
  • Participate in educational activities, including bedside teaching and formal didactics, to contribute to the academic mission of the institution.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
  • Engage in service activities within the division, department, and institution as required.
  • Maintain active involvement in relevant professional societies and continuous professional development.

Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable; commensurate with experience and qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates should have a MD/DO and be BE/BC in Critical Care Medicine.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MD/DO specializing in Critical Care with high interest and expertise in postoperative care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
  • Experience in managing a wide range of critical care scenarios across different ICUs.
  • Commitment to teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
