LAKEWATCH is a water quality monitoring program that facilitates "hands-on" participation by community volunteers in the management of Florida lakes, estuaries, rivers and springs through monthly sampling activities. It is one of the largest community science programs in the country, with over 1800 trained volunteers, 800 monitored ecosystems, and 30 years of water quality data. The position will be responsible for sharing of these data with numerous stakeholders, including Florida’s Department of the Environmental Protection, and facilitate their use in research, teaching, and extension activities at the University of Florida. The position will also provide expertise on statistical approaches and methods for LAKEWATCH research activities, and support statistical software (e.g., R programming language and R Studio/R Markdown interfaces) use by affiliated staff and students.
