Job Description:

Provides support for faculty and staff throughout the design, development, and support of educational processes, grounded in effective pedagogy, particularly within the context of Extension. Works in a team environment with PIE Center faculty and staff on all aspects of educational components for large projects and initiatives. Organizes and disseminates educational and outreach materials in print and digital formats for various target audiences, in collaboration with Center faculty and staff, to meet organizational needs. Supports large projects by assisting in evaluating training effectiveness and achievement of learning outcomes to ensure successful completion. Stays up to date on comprehensive learning and training programs, such as the Center’s PIE Academy and Insight Summit, including course/project scope, course objectives, timeline, materials, and evaluation.

Assists with program planning and logic model development. Assists with the collection of evaluation materials to measure the effectiveness and the impacts of PIE Center educational efforts in collaboration with Center faculty and staff. Conducts needs assessments with various audiences and prepares data-based reports and recommendations as needed. Assists Center faculty in planning and developing effective educational programs/campaigns, including producing and developing original content for faculty to review.

Prepares educational presentations and assists in conducting training programs on behalf of the Center. Establishes a strong working relationship with Florida state and county Extension educators and other education/outreach partners. Represents the Center at industry and Extension functions/meetings.

Recommends policies and procedures for designing and delivering educational content and programs. Provides support for the design and development of training curricula, learning strategies, educational policies, or courseware standards. Participates in Center meetings and assists with other projects as directed. Participates in organization development initiatives, including change management, strategic planning, and assessments.

Provides guidance for student workers in the development of educational and outreach materials/learning aids in print, electronic, and social media formats for various audiences. Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

Starting at $22.03/hour commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants should have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders. A strong understanding of teaching and learning principles, methods, and technology; instructional design; program development and evaluation methods; and educational delivery strategies is expected.  A working knowledge of online learning environments software is also important. Applicants should also have demonstrated proficiency with desktop layout and graphic design software, such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva, and/or video editing software. Applicants also should be able to implement social media to support educational, communication, and outreach efforts.
