Job Description:

The University of Florida Veterinary Hospital at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala FL provides Equine sports medicine, rehabilitation, and diagnostic imaging services and Small Animal primary care and urgent care services. A Small Animal Veterinary Assistant at the UFVH at WEC, assist with patient care, procedures, stocking, administrative support, and general cleaning and maintenance of the hospital and equipment. An individual in this position must possess basic knowledge of veterinary medicine and enjoy learning new things.

Available Shifts:
The hospital requires coverage 24 hours/7 days a week. Typically schedules consist of 8 or 10 hour shifts. Will be assigned to a primary shift.  Reassignment to a different primary shift, rotating shifts, split shifts and extended shifts may be required and assigned depending on hospital needs.  Assigned days may vary Sunday through Saturday, weekends and holidays included. This position also requires working alternate shifts, holidays, weekends, or “on-call duty.” 
This position is considered essential personnel and requires a post-offer health assessment.

High school diploma or equivalent

This is a CARE position offering limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off.  When appropriate certifications are achieved, promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available. This position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan.
