Job Description:

The Department of Sport Management (SPM) at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications and nominations for one non-tenure track full-time Lecturer position (Instructional Assistant Professor). This position is in person and not remote.   

We are seeking candidates who will have a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; and provide department, college, and professional service.  

An earned doctorate in sport management, related discipline, or Juris Doctorate (JD) with experience in sport management, or master’s degree with over 10 years of sport management industry experience is required. Candidates who are in the “all but dissertation” (ABD) stage with teaching experience may also be considered but a degree must be earned by the position’s start date. Candidates should be passionate and enthusiastic toward student learning and demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence. They should have experience in developing new courses, teaching online, and integrating experiential learning and/or artificial intelligence (AI) into the curriculum. We are seeking applications from candidates with expertise in sport law or sport analytics (business and performance). Preference will be given to applicants who have experience teaching sport law or sport analytics and any combination of the following: sport finance, managing sport organizations and ethical issues in sport.

The department includes 6 instructional and 8 tenured or tenure-track faculty, who are supported by award winning advisory and administrative staff. Across residential and online programs, SPM reaches more than 900 students (618 undergraduate majors, 313 master’s students, and 15 PhD students). The Sport Management online program was one of the first in the country and is a thriving part of the department.
