Job Description:

Solutions Development – collaborate with Warrington faculty, PhD students, and staff to help them identify their business requirements. Particular attention is paid to information security aspects such as data classification, data flow, and privacy since many end users lack expertise in these areas or fail to consider security requirements. Develop appropriate solutions to meet the business requirements in compliance with applicable laws, policies, and best practices. Collaborate with WCB TechSol development team on creation of custom solutions for WCB, as appropriate. Ensure that end users fully understand the implications of the solution, notably security aspects.  Upon receiving user approval of the solution, prepare requests for quote (RFQ) and/or secure quotes, and collaborate with WCB ITO on acquisition.

Solution Deployment and Management – continued engagement in the full system lifecycle, which began during development – change management, systems management, maintenance, testing, quality assurance, etc.  Develop and update technical documentation as needed. 

Information Security-

  • Expedite IRM process for WCB units. Collaborate with other WCB IT staff and other stakeholders to implement security measures required by the IRM team.
  • Participate in the DMBTC response to UFIRTs.
  • Monitor proposed/pending information security policies, procedures, or systems that could impact WCB operations. 
  • Monitor industry trends with an eye toward maintaining an appropriate information security posture at the WCB.

Advanced IT Support- Responsible for providing advanced (Tier 3) information technology (IT) support for WCB faculty members, staff members, and students.

Endpoint Imaging- Participate in the development and testing of workstation images, deployment processes, etc.

Internal Consultant- Respond to requests for help from WCB Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical staff members.  Assist them in resolving highly complex hardware and software issues, including classroom technology.

User training- Provide individualized training to end users.  Adapt technical presentations “on the fly” to the appropriate level of complexity for each user.

Expected Salary:

$74,000.00

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION & TRAINING: A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization.  Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Project+.

OTHER: Works efficiently and with initiative, independently and as a team member - Communicates effectively and professionally with internal and external contacts - Clearly explains complicated IT concepts to non-experts
