Job Description:

The Institute for Child Health Policy (ICHP) at the University of Florida supports contracts with Texas and Florida Medicaid agencies and conducts policy research utilizing these and other health data resources. ICHP is seeking a Research Coordinator III to coordinate research and data-driven initiatives focused on evaluating access to and quality of care for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) beneficiaries, as well as other state-focused projects.

Working closely with the Director of Florida and Texas State Projects, the Research Coordinator III will play a key role in advancing the strategic goals of these initiatives, ensuring the successful execution of research objectives, and effectively communicating key findings. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring project commitments are met on time, supporting the management of a large, dynamic team, and contributing to project analysis and strategy. This individual will be proficient in working with healthcare data, creating PowerPoint presentations, and drafting issue briefs, while possessing a solid understanding of health policy. Strong analytical skills and communication abilities are essential for success in this role.

The Research Coordinator III will collaborate with internal and external research partners to refine study methodologies, synthesize data reports, present findings, and track project deliverables. The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate strong collaborative communication skills, engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, and exercise independent judgment to drive project success. Additionally, the role will involve coordinating infrastructure support, including managing data protocols and facilitating compliance with regulatory standards. More About This Role

Research Coordination: Coordinate multiple research projects across various teams, ensuring efficient and timely management of all phases of the research process. Work closely with the Director to track progress on research goals and initiatives, providing regular updates and strategic recommendations for improvement. Draft concise and informative issue briefs on health policy topics. Prepare and maintain PowerPoint presentations for the Director’s meetings, briefings, and public engagements. Develop clear, evidence-based summaries and recommendations for stakeholders. This role also involves reviewing study protocols, conducting audits to ensure compliance with University of Florida policies and regulatory standards, and finalizing study methodologies while tracking key deliverables for state projects. Serve as the primary liaison between data and research teams, managing Data Use Agreements and Institutional Review Board submissions, monitoring project timelines, and collaborating with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. Additionally, represent the Institute for Child Health Policy in consultations with internal and external affiliates throughout the project cycle and handle ad hoc assignments as directed by the Director.

Team Support and Communication: Support the Director in managing a large and multifaceted team, ensuring that team members have clear tasks and responsibilities. Help facilitate communication across teams, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Organize and facilitate team meetings, ensuring that key milestones and action points are clearly communicated. Support the Director in drafting reports that align with the guidelines and standards of the University of Florida and project stakeholders. Coordinate the development of comprehensive study reports that incorporate rigorous methodologies, systematic literature reviews, and innovative design elements, ensuring clarity and accessibility for both technical and non-technical audiences. Present findings to both internal and external stakeholders to enhance dissemination and engagement.

Infrastructure Restructuring and Collaboration: Develop and maintain policies and procedures for data storage, monitoring compliance to maintain data integrity and security. Assist the Director in gathering and documenting user requirements related to infrastructure changes. Identify bottlenecks or potential challenges in the restructuring process and proactively work to resolve them. Establish and enforce timelines when collaborating with external vendors or partners on infrastructure restructuring. Be conversant with minimal infrastructure requirements for managing healthcare-sensitive data, ensuring that security and compliance standards are met. Work across teams to clearly define, communicate, and meet milestones, keeping everyone aligned on timelines and deliverables.

Expected Salary:

$68,000 - $80,000; commensurate based on education and experience

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in public health, health policy, or related field.
  • Proven experience in health policy, with a solid understanding of healthcare data and analysis.
  • Experience in managing teams or supporting large team operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
