Job Description:

The Department of Community Health and Family Medicine (CHFM) in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida seeks a Family Medicine physician to join the UF Health Family Medicine - Cornerstone facility. This faculty position offers the opportunity to practice full-scope primary care in a supportive, team-based setting. As we develop this role, you will have an opportunity to engage in academic activities by teaching medical students and residents during patient care activities.  This position is non-tenure accruing. The rank will be commensurate with qualifications. Full-time is strongly preferred; however, part-time may be considered.

 Clinical Duties:

  • Deliver direct, comprehensive care as a Family Medicine Physician at UF Health Family Medicine Cornerstone primary care clinic, focusing on preventive care, diagnosis, and managing acute and chronic conditions.
  • Engage in community-focused healthcare efforts to address healthcare disparities, emphasizing holistic well-being for the East Gainesville community.
  • Participate in team-based care delivery, supervising and collaborating with ARNPs and PAs to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Support and participate in faculty group responsibilities, including quality initiatives and clinical innovation projects.

  Educational Activities:

  • Teach and mentor medical students and Family Medicine residents during patient care activities.
  • Contribute to the academic environment through lectures, seminars, or scholarly presentations.
  • Engage in professional development and scholarship, with departmental support for publishing and presenting at regional or national meetings.

Required Qualifications:
  • An M.D. or D.O. degree (or equivalent), board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, and a current Florida medical license (or eligibility) are required.
  • Passionate about the underserved population.
  • Eligible or have a valid Florida medical license.
  • Proven experience in providing comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, with the ability to manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (E.H.R.) systems is also essential.
