Job Description: |
The End User Computing Specialist II provides advanced support for networked computers, laptops, and audiovisual (A/V) systems serving the CLAS Academic Advising Center. This role installs and configures hardware/software, supports Hy-Flex classrooms and conference rooms, troubleshoots user issues, manages tickets and inventory, and coordinates with vendors and CLAS/UFIT partners to keep technology running smoothly.

End-user support: Respond to tickets; troubleshoot, install, configure, and upgrade Windows/macOS systems; document work; deliver 1:1 or small-group user trainings.

A/V & classroom tech: Maintain and support conference-room and Hy-Flex technology (e.g., Crestron, projectors); conduct routine checks, upgrades, and event setups; provide day-of A/V support.

Liaison & coordination: Serve as primary contact between AAC users and CLAS IT system admins; participate in stakeholder meetings and feedback loops.

Inventory & asset management: Partner with Asset Management on accurate inventory controls, audits, lifecycle (including secure disposal and data sanitation).

Events: Support A/V for dean’s office and college events; handle pre-event testing and live troubleshooting.

Technology consulting: Advise on purchases aligned with UF standards and information security; track emerging tools and best practices.

Network diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools to resolve connectivity issues (ports, wireless, internet); collaborate with network admins and recommend preventive measures.

Expected Salary: |
The salary is $22.03 - $24.00 /hourly.

Required Qualifications: |
Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred: |
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills; ability to prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of Audio-Visual Systems (Crestron systems, projectors).
- Prior experience supporting faculty, staff, and students in technology.
- Strong troubleshooting skills; familiarity with ticketing/ITSM tools, remote support, and network infrastructure/protocols.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
- Ability to adapt to changing technology trends and environments.
