The UF Health Cancer Institute is the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the only one at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center, we span all 16 colleges of the University of Florida, pulling together a world-class, multi-disciplinary membership of over 350 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure.
As an Evaluation Coordinator at the UF Health Cancer Institute (UFHCI), you will be responsible for coordinating program metrics, data collection, and dissemination activities that support the Office of Community Outreach & Engagement’s (COE) mission to collaborate across the institution and the community. Strong analytical, project‑management, and communication skills are essential.
In your new role you will be responsible for the following:
- Coordinating and tracking programmatic evaluation metrics across COE units, generating reports from internal databases, maintaining tracking logs in evaluation software, communicating with UFHCI departments, developing dashboards, programming surveys into REDCap/Qualtrics, supporting survey deployment, maintaining data dictionaries, ensuring data availability on dashboards, and resolving data inconsistencies
- Cleaning and organizing quantitative datasets, calculating descriptive statistics, collecting qualitative data via semi‑structured interviews and focus groups, performing basic thematic or content analysis, synthesizing findings, and preparing short reports or presentations for leadership
- Creating tables, graphs, infographics, and communication products, coordinating with Communications & Marketing, contributing to reports for institutional and governmental stakeholders, assisting in writing public‑facing documents, and evaluating engagement metrics

| Preferred: |
Knowledge/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Health Communications, Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Education & Behavior, or a related field with coursework in statistics.
- Academic coursework or training in statistics, epidemiology, and/or data analysis.
- Some experience working with complex data sets and performing statistical evaluation/reporting, preferably in an academic setting.
- Knowledge of, and preferably experience with, social‑behavioral research methods relevant to public health.
- Basic understanding or working knowledge of epidemiological/biostatistical data and methods.
- Experience in survey design, database cleaning, management, and reporting.
- Familiarity with fundamental statistical terms and processes.
- Familiarity with GitHub or similar shared coding/development platforms.

- Basic proficiency in at least one statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS) and at least one programming language, with a strong preference for R.
- Competence in data management and statistical methods, and the ability to learn REDCap and related tools as needed.
- Demonstrated data‑analysis skills, with the capacity to synthesize aggregate data into actionable metrics and benchmark reports, and to communicate those insights to non‑expert audiences.
- Technical writing proficiency for translating complex technical information into clear, accessible documents.
- Experience using or knowledge of Power BI for report and dashboard creation.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
