As the Membership Coordinator, you’ll be the heartbeat of our radio and television family. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development and the WUFT Membership Director, you’ll build lasting relationships with listeners, donors, and partners across Gainesville and beyond. Your work will keep the signal strong, the community engaged, and the campus budget healthy.

What You’ll Do

  • Pledge‑drive champion: Plan, coordinate, and energize FM/TV pledge drives; recruit volunteers, curate premium gifts, and manage on‑air and direct‑mail outreach.
  • Database steward: Maintain accurate member records, process contributions, and generate insightful reports to guide future campaigns.
  • Communication conduit: Handle phone, email, and face‑to‑face interactions—answering benefit questions, updates, and support, while keeping newsletters and social posts fresh.
  • Event liaison: Assist the Major Gifts team on high‑capacity donors, coordinate‑RSVPs, set‑ups, and thank‑you logistics for events, community tables, and station outreach.
  • Community builder: Identify and nurture relationships with local partners—corporates, foundations, and volunteers—to expand WUFT’s presence.

  • Comfortable during extended hours, occasional weekends, and unpredictable campaign peaks.

Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some weekend work required. Hours may vary during membership campaigns and special events, and occasionally early morning, evening, and travel commitments may be necessary.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
  • Prior non-profit fundraising and member development experience preferred.
  • Enthusiastic about mission of public media. 
  • Must have computing skills and willingness and ability to learn new software as necessary.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player.  
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects and priorities effectively and professionally.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills, maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance when interacting with members, volunteers and staff, both internally and externally.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to engage effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of individuals are essential.
  • Support the University’s commitment to creating a respectful and collaborative work environment that values integrity, professionalism, and mutual respect in all interactions; demonstrated success collaborating with stakeholders; strong project management skills; experience in a data-driven environment; excellent organizational abilities; and the capacity to lead, influence, and inspire others are essential.
  • Proficient in the following areas: Windows operating systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, as well as internet browsers and email platforms. Familiarity with donor databases, contact management systems, and tracking systems is also highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of software specifically designed for public media, including Allegiance, Mvault, Forest Direct, Viability and others.
  • The ability and willingness to travel.  A valid driver’s license and good driving record are essential. *
