| Job Description: |
The 4-H OPS Event Assistant provides operational and administrative support to the Florida 4-H State Events team. This position contributes directly to the planning, coordination, promotion, and execution of statewide youth development events.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Operations
- Assist with event registration, reporting, evaluations, and event software management
- Support coordination of venues, sponsors, vendors, and event logistics
- Provide general clerical and administrative support related to event management
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and on-site event execution
Major Event Support
- Provide on-site support for iLEAD, 4-H University, and other summer state events
- Some evening and weekend work required
- Travel required as needed
Communications & Promotions
- Assist with event promotional plans (email, website, newsletters, and social media)
- Support sponsor engagement efforts
- Help maintain clear communication with participants and stakeholders
Work Environment
- Office based at UF Campus (Gainesville) with internal team collaboration
- Outdoor and event-site work required during events
- Position requires the ability to work extended hours during peak event times
This is a time-limited OPS position supervised by the State 4-H Events Coordinator.

$16/hourly

| Required Qualifications: |
- High school diploma
- Ability to pass Level 2 background screening
- Completion of required Child Protection Training
- Availability from May 1 through August 4
- Ability to work 20 hours per week (additional hours during major event dates)

| Preferred: |
- Previous participation in 4-H (preferred but not required)
- Interest in event management, public relations, youth development, or nonprofit programming
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)

Must be available during these summer 4-H events:
- iLEAD – June 5-7, 2026
- 4-H Legislature – June 21-26, 2026
- 4-H University – July 26-30, 2026
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods during events
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in high-activity environments
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work when in office
