Receive human blood specimens from statewide clinical sites, perform tissue component processing on these samples such as DNA extraction, serum isolation, and plasma isolation. Subsequently log these collected materials in a database and store all components for future use.
Perform cell separations by either magnetic or FACS sorting methods, then prepare cells for nucleic acid isolation and future sequencing experiments.
Isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from human blood specimens. Subsequent tissue culturing or cryopreservation for future use.
Entry, input, QC, and maintenance of several established HIPAA and IRB compliant databases of human samples and their experimental results. Interface directly with UFDI STEPS data management to ensure industry and academic compliance with current data principles.
Inventory maintenance and ordering of reagents, supplies, and necessary materials for human sample processing protocols.
Perform other experimental procedures on collected samples such as Genotyping, PCR, western blot, Elisa, ScRNAseq, and FACS.
Additional duties as assigned by Managers and UFDI leadership
