Associate Professor
Candidates for this rank shall hold the highest degree appropriate to their field or possess professional qualifications above those equivalent to the highest degree relevant to their field. They are expected to have produced creative work, professional writing, or research and successful teaching or professional experience. A candidate for this rank must have a distinguished record of achievement beyond the assistant professor level.
Professor
Candidates for this faculty rank shall be qualified for the rank of associate professor and, in addition, be a recognized national or international authority or an outstanding teacher in their field or specialization. A candidate for this rank must have a distinguished record of achievement beyond the associate professor level.
Lecturer
Candidates shall have received the academic degree appropriate to the assignment of duties, or equivalent experiences or accomplishments in the field may be substituted.
Senior Lecturer
Candidates shall have received the academic degree appropriate to the assignment of duties, or equivalent experiences or accomplishments in the field may be substituted.
Master Lecturer

The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, invites applications for a full-time or part-time faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor or Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Master Lecturer in Veterinary Business Management. The University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine is the fifth ranked veterinary program in the US. The CVM is part of an academic health center with six health-related colleges and seven major health-related research centers and institutes and is allied with the academic animal science programs of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, all housed on a single contiguous campus.
The appointee will take over leadership of a well-established and nationally recognized DVM certificate program focused on Veterinary Business. This certificate program serves 30-50 students per veterinary class, providing them with the necessary tools to own and operate veterinary practices after graduation. The program includes elective coursework (2 didactic courses and 1 clerkship) and business courses in the core DVM curriculum (2 didactic courses). The appointee’s teaching responsibilities will include didactic & clinical teaching of professional students on business topics and administration of the certificate program. This work includes leading a unique experiential clerkship wherein students perform practice evaluations for outside clinics under the supervision/mentorship of the appointee, with mutual benefit to both participating practices and the students. Flexibility exists to shape the position to fit the ideal candidate. For those seeking a full-time position, additional assignments to veterinary instruction or clinical service (small animal, large animal, or diagnostic services) or other administrative responsibilities will make up the balance of the appointee’s responsibilities, per the requirements of their classification and rank. Opportunities for independent or collaborative research activities exist. All faculty are expected to be involved in scholarly activities, professional outreach, committee service, and curriculum development.
