Classification Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) or Federal Work-Study (FWS) and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

Job Description:

Position Specific Responsibilities

  • Photograph student programs, special events, activities, and scheduled studio shoots highlighting the programs and offerings of student spaces
  • Ideate, create and pitch unique content ideas for the area’s various social platforms
  • Maintain the organization of the Division’s photography database
  • Maintain care of photography equipment
  • Assist in and provide an educated voice in the planning, development and execution of marketing plans
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers and vendors in an agency style work environment with both student and professional staff including graphic designers, marketing assistants, communication specialists and more
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Information

  • The department’s camera ecosystem consists of Canon Digital SLRs
  • Student Life Marketing utilizes Adobe Creative Cloud (Lightroom and Photoshop) and Photo Mechanic for post-production workflows
Expected Salary:

$14.00 per hour

Required Qualifications:

Preferred:
  • Possess solid photography and editing skills, as well as the ability to craft and maintain a consistent voice and tone with imagery
  • Demonstrated previous experience utilizing photography equipment and Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom software
  • Ability to learn the department’s photo production equipment inside and out, as well as industry-standard techniques and safe practices of grip, gaff, lighting, and camera equipment
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Have an interest in people and building positive relationships that make our department and the UF community better
  • An interest in thinking creatively, strategically, and collaboratively to aid in educating our community on the experiences and offerings available to enhance the UF experience
