High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description:

Reception and Customer Service:
• Greets callers and visitors in a professional and courteous manner, responds to inquiries, and refers    Individuals to appropriate staff.
• Records and routes telephone messages, schedules appointments, and updates shared calendars.
• Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail; prepares outgoing correspondence and packages for courier or postal delivery.
• Maintains visitor logs, checks in guests, issues name tags, and provides general information about the Center.
• Provides support for facilities-related communication and scheduling as needed


Administrative and Clerical Support:
• Operates standard office and computer equipment (e.g., copiers, scanners, fax machines, printers) and performs general clerical duties, including filing, data entry, document preparation, and record maintenance. Provides day-to-day administrative support to the Administrative Specialist and assists with assigned projects and tasks.
• Assists the Administrative Specialist with the day-to-day oversight of MREC dormitory operations, including resident communications, recordkeeping, and coordination of check-in and check-out activities.
• Provide basic data entry or backup support only to assist faculty with editing their publication information in Faculty Excellence & Advancement (FEA) system.
• Assists with monitoring MREC state vehicle operations, including vehicle reservations and returns, vehicle and driver records, and monthly mileage and fuel records, and mileage tracking.


Event and Meeting Coordination:
• Prepares meeting materials, arranges refreshments, manages room setup, and supports logistics before and during events.
• Ability to work off-site or after hours when needed to assist with events.
• Assists in planning and coordinating customer service activities including meetings, workshops, and events.
• Assists with maintenance of event and contact databases, mailing lists, and distribution lists.

Expected Salary:

$16.86 per hour

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred qualifications

Preferred qualifications would include strong customer service skill when interacting with staff and visitors. Strong organizational skills and ability to multiple tasks and the ability to support daily office operations.
