Job Description:

The Data Management Analyst II manages the full lifecycle of data needs for educational scholarly projects and professional development initiatives within the College of Medicine and School of Physician Assistant Studies. Under the guidance of the Associate Dean of the Division of Integrated Medical Education Research, Scholarship, Faculty Development, and Educational Effectiveness, this position will administer assessment tools; maintain datasets, databases, and analytical files; conduct basic statistical analyses; prepare standardized reports and visualizations, and supports continuous quality improvement initiatives for faculty development programs and educational research projects.

The position further assists in medical educational research by conducting literature reviews and preparing grant documents, technical reports, publications, and presentations. Through data evaluation and research support, the Data Management Analyst II plays an essential role in the mission of the entire UF Enterprise to advance medical education research, promote faculty growth in research and medical education, and ensure accreditation compliance across the College of Medicine and the School of Physician Assistant Studies.

About This Role:

Data Management 

  • Administer assessment tools and surveys in collaboration with faculty and administrators, providing training and consultation as needed.
  • Clean, validate, and maintain datasets, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness across all systems.
  • Develop, document, update, and manage analytical data files, databases, and Excel spreadsheets for tracking, reporting, and evaluation purposes.
  • Summarize data and produce clear tables, graphs, and visualizations for deans, department chairs, and course/clerkship directors.
  • Design, develop, and maintain databases for data collection and reporting, ensuring strong quality control and consistency across reports and files.

Accreditation and Data Governance Support

  • Coordinate the collection and dissemination of data related to faculty scholarly performance, faculty scholarly effectiveness, and faculty development programmatic evaluations.
  • Collect, compile, and develop descriptive statistical reports for faculty development programs and faculty educational research projects across the University of Florida, the College of Medicine, and the School of Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Draft and distribute standard evaluation reports, including tables, graphs, and summary data, related to educational projects and faculty development efforts when requested by course/clerkship directors, department chairs, and various committees within the Office of Educational Affairs
  • Prepare and distribute ad-hoc summary materials to stakeholders in support of accreditation, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Support data collection, management, and reporting required for accreditation processes, with primary focus on faculty scholarship and faculty development efforts
  • Maintain and integrate data from multiple systems (e.g., evaluations, assessments, curriculum, faculty development, exams, surveys) to ensure accurate, accessible, and auditable accreditation-related datasets.

Educational Research and Programmatic Data Analysis & Measurement

  • Conduct item analyses, validity correlation analyses, and other statistical assessments for all faculty educational research and faculty development programs.
  • Perform routine statistical analyses to support educational research and program evaluation.
  • Maintain statistical program files and operational files used for data analysis and educational research.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of measurement systems supporting faculty development program evaluation, and accreditation requirements.
  • Support scheduling, preparation, and follow-up of research or faculty development meetings

Research and Grant Support

  • Conduct literature reviews to support educational research projects and grant submission
  • Develop, edit, and proofread grant documents, technical reports, publications, and presentations.
  • Assist in collecting content for educational grant submissions
  • Assist with coordinating research-related events such as workshops, poster sessions, or scholarship showcases.

Expected Salary:

$63,000 - $69,000 annually

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Degree in applied statistics, educational psychology, or another social science field with a strong background in qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Knowledge of statistics, testing and measurement, and research methodology, including survey instrument design.
  • Demonstrated experience working with data, extracting information from large databases, and presenting outcomes data and research finding.
  • Proficiency with statistical software (SAS or SPSS preferred) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce accurate, high-quality results with strong attention to detail; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
