| Job Description: |
The Maintenance Generalist II performs a wide range of interior and exterior building maintenance tasks to support UF/IFAS facilities. This position plays a key role in ensuring that offices, classrooms, laboratories, and research spaces remain safe, functional, and well‑maintained. Work includes general repairs, carpentry, pressure washing, and assisting other skilled trades. This role requires driving a state vehicle to various work sites.

Building Maintenance — Performs interior and exterior repairs to UF/IFAS buildings, including roofing, windows, doors, floors, and partitions in offices, classrooms, and labs. Drives a state vehicle to assigned work sites.

Carpentry Support — Assists with general and finish carpentry, including repairs to furniture such as desks, tables, chairs, and cabinets.

Exterior Pressure Washing — Completes work orders for pressure washing building exteriors and concrete walkways.

Support for Other Trades — Assists HVAC, plumbing, and electrical staff as needed; performs other duties as assigned.

| Expected Salary: |
$20-$24/hourly commensurate with education and experience
|
| Required Qualifications: |
- High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience
- Must have a valid Florida Driver's License
|
| Preferred: |
- Strong background with HVAC and plumbing systems is highly preferred

Experience in carpentry, facilities maintenance, or multi‑trade support

Familiarity with building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety practices

Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Customer‑service mindset with strong communication skills
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills when interacting with faculty, staff, and students

Experience working outdoors and in varying weather conditions

Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Familiarity with safety procedures and OSHA guidelines

Experience using work‑order systems
