Job Description:

The University of Florida is looking for an Admissions Officer II to support undergraduate admissions and readmission processes for prospective and returning students. In this role, you will review and evaluate admissions applications, coordinate admissions decisions with academic colleges, assess transcripts and transfer credit, and provide guidance to students, families, and university partners throughout the admissions process.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Application Review & Evaluation

  • Review and evaluate undergraduate admissions applications to ensure compliance with university admission requirements and standards.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of application materials and supporting documentation.
  • Process applications from former University of Florida students seeking readmission.
  • Evaluate secondary and post-secondary transcripts in accordance with university policies and procedures.
  • Assess transfer coursework and determine transfer credit eligibility.
  • Post and maintain credits earned through examinations and other approved methods.
  • Ensure admissions records are accurate and maintained in accordance with university standards.
Transfer Admissions Operations
  • Collaborate with academic colleges to manage admissions referrals and admission decisions.
  • Ensure admissions decisions are processed and communicated according to established timelines and release deadlines.
  • Support admission workflows and operational processes to promote timely and efficient application review.
  • Apply university policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in admissions processing.
Student Support Services
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students, current students, parents, and university personnel.
  • Respond to admissions-related inquiries received via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Provide accurate guidance regarding admissions requirements, policies, procedures, and application status.
  • Support OneStop Enrollment Services staff with escalated admissions inquiries and complex student cases.
  • Develop and maintain admissions reference materials and training resources for campus partners.

Other Duties

  • Provide cross-functional support within the Office of Admissions to ensure operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with departments and Enrollment Management partners to support operational goals.
  • Participate in committees, cross-functional teams, and division initiatives.
  • Assist with admissions-related events and initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Expected Salary:

$47,500 annually

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience.

Preferred:
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate applications, transcripts, and student records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various audiences through verbal and written communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, colleagues, and campus partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, analyze information, and work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, applicants, and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience working with student information systems, CRM platforms, or related database applications; experience with Slate and/or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions preferred.
