| Job Description: |
- Assist the Marketing and Communications Specialist with updating and maintaining the department website.
- Create and edit photos, graphics, and other visual materials using software such as Adobe Photoshop and Canva.
- Assist with developing and publishing content for departmental social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
- Support departmental communications efforts, including drafting announcements, and promotional content.
- Assist with planning and supporting departmental events, seminars, meetings, and outreach activities.
- Perform data entry, filing, document preparation, and other general office tasks.

| Expected Salary: |
$15.00 hour

| Required Qualifications: |
- Must maintain a 2.5-grade point average.
- Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
- Must receive or be eligible to receive Federal Work Study

| Preferred: |
- Demonstrated interest in communications, marketing, public relations and scientific research.
- Experience with, or willingness to learn, website maintenance using a content management system (CMS).
- Basic graphic design and photo-editing experience.
- Experience managing or creating content for social media platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Previous office, administrative, customer service, or communications experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a positive customer-service-oriented attitude.
This position is ideal for students interested in gaining experience in communications, marketing, event coordination, and office administration within a higher education and research environment.
