Established in 2022, the Hamilton School is a multidisciplinary academic unit whose purpose is to support teaching and research concerning the ideas, traditions, and texts that shape Western civilization and American values and institutions. The School offers four undergraduate degrees, five undergraduate minors and two graduate degrees.
The Hamilton School for Classical and Civic Education at the University of Florida invites applications for tenure-track and tenured faculty positions in American Government, History, Literature, and Law (AGHLL) to begin in August 2027.
Hamilton seeks to fill several tenure-track and tenured faculty positions, starting in the 2027-28 academic year. Responsibilities include offering courses in Hamilton’s AGHLL major, as well as ordinarily contributing to one of Hamilton’s three other majors: (1) Great Books and Ideas; (2) Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Law; or (3) War, Statecraft and Strategy.
Applicants are welcome from all relevant disciplines, including but not limited to political science, jurisprudence, constitutional studies, history, literature, religion and art history. The search is open with regard to period, ranging from colonial to contemporary America. The search is open rank, with scholars at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor level all encouraged to apply.
