Job Description:

The UF Health Cancer Institute is the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the only one at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center, we span all of the University of Florida's 16 colleges, pulling together a world-class, multi-disciplinary membership of over 350 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure.

As an OPS Academics Program Coordinator at the UF Health Cancer Institute (UFHCI), you will be responsible for maintaining an active database with the Education team.

In your new role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining, updating, and quality-checking the Cancer Training & Education Program’s database of current and former students and trainees.
  • Entering, organizing, and reviewing trainee data to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and appropriate data security.
  • Conducting follow-up with former students and trainees to track education, career placement, publications, grants, awards, and other outcomes.
  • Support program events, conferences, communications, and outreach, and other program activities.  

This is an OPS position ideal for candidates with an interest in exploring a career in administration in a higher education institution, research, healthcare, or similar industries.  A complete job description will be provided to candidates selected for interview.

Expected Salary:

$17.00 hourly

This is an OPS position and is eligible for a suite of excellent benefits and retirement options.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent. Successful pre-employment screening, including a background check.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Good organization and communication skills for collaborative work across teams and functions.
Preferred:

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Understanding of confidentiality and data privacy standards.
  • Experience with data entry, database management or records upkeep.
  • Experience using survey software solutions and data collection tools, including Qualtrics.
  • Experience working in a professional environment.

Qualities:

  • Strong desire to learn, seek out, and apply new knowledge, methods and information.
  • Interest in a career in higher education administration, research or healthcare.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
