Postdoctoral Associate

A Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or related field.

The successful candidate will lead preclinical development of genetically engineered probiotic therapeutics for treatment of diabetes and metabolic disorders. Responsibilities include design and execution of pharmacokinetic, bioavailability, toxicology, dose-response, and efficacy studies in rodent models; engineering and characterization of probiotic strains; bioanalytical assay development; data analysis; and preparation of manuscripts, grant applications, and regulatory documentation.

Commensurate with experience

Ideal candidates are dynamic and self-motivated individuals that can take ownership of the projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Candidates should have expertise in in vivo pharmacology, diabetes mouse models, PK/PD analysis, microbiome therapeutics, and peptide biologics.

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience with rodent models of diabetes and metabolic disease.
• Strong publication record in metabolic disease, microbiome therapeutics, or drug delivery.
• Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration spanning microbiology, pharmacology, toxicology, and bioengineering.
